The Opposite
What is the opposite of an existential crisis of ennui? I am not filled with despair at the pointlessness of it all; I don’t necessarily feel sad that life is not inherently significant or meaningful. In fact, I know these things deep in my bones, and instead of scaring me they fill me with desire to do something, anything. To marvel at the universe in all its meaninglessness. It is...

Katniss
The movie version of Katniss is much more likable than the book version of Katniss. In my opinion. Katniss in the book annoyed me. Maybe because the reader knows her every thought and in the movie that isn’t the case. However, overall, the character of Katniss is one of my favorite literary heroines of all time.

So let's just get this straight...
eruditechick: Hunger Games has the 3rd biggest opening in movie history. An action flick starring a girl. Who isn’t an emaciated stick.  Who isn’t a princess. Whose journey is motivated by her sister, not a man. Who is not sexually used, abused, active or even objectified much. 3rd biggest opening in movie history. Spawning a franchise. Let’s just… let’s just think about that. Let’s just...

Supposed to be working on my senior thesis, but...
I really want to scroll through Tumblr, drink a Corona, and watch endless amounts of Doctor Who. Responsibility blows.

Political Attacks Against Women
The United States is attempting to politically regress right now with the laws that are passing in various states such as Arizona regarding women’s health, birth control, abortion, etc. It make me extremely scared for the future of the country if misogynistic politicians come into power within the next election cycle. What does it say about our country when battles that have already been...
